Not ideal, but workable—if you get the escalation path in the contract.

And if you have an approved vendor already who has performed well for years, the checklist is a periodic audit, not a reason to switch. No supplier change is worth it based on process alone.

First mistake: assuming "same specification" meant identical results across vendors. I made that assumption. Didn't verify. Turned out each manufacturer interpreted nominal dimensions slightly differently, and the cable that fit our termination kit wasn't the one from every vendor.
